Overview

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Understand key account performance measures.
  • Implement agreed premium, pricing, cover, risk acceptance and other changes to achieve KPIs, financial and strategic objectives.
  • Monitor underwriting authorities, standards and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, good outcomes for customers and the effective and efficient control and management of exposure to risk.
  • Develop underwriting best practice and ensure this is reflected in all underwriting procedures across regions and accounts.
  • Advise and support the delivery of audits and the provision of feedback on Regional Underwriting authorities.
  • Provide technical opinion on policy wordings and the interpretation of endorsements and provide feedback to product development to ensure our products remain market leading.
  • Deliver one-off activities/projects to the standards and outcomes agreed with line manager.

Qualifications required:

  • Professional qualification in a relevant technical discipline e.g. Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) or equivalent highly desirable.

Experience required:

  • Experienced underwriter with a strong background in motor and/or home insurance.
  • Experience of delivering KPIs, projects and objectives.
  • Ideally have experience of leading, managing, supervising or coaching people.
  • Knowledge of current industry developments and regulatory framework.
