Overview
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Understand key account performance measures.
- Implement agreed premium, pricing, cover, risk acceptance and other changes to achieve KPIs, financial and strategic objectives.
- Monitor underwriting authorities, standards and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, good outcomes for customers and the effective and efficient control and management of exposure to risk.
- Develop underwriting best practice and ensure this is reflected in all underwriting procedures across regions and accounts.
- Advise and support the delivery of audits and the provision of feedback on Regional Underwriting authorities.
- Provide technical opinion on policy wordings and the interpretation of endorsements and provide feedback to product development to ensure our products remain market leading.
- Deliver one-off activities/projects to the standards and outcomes agreed with line manager.
Qualifications required:
- Professional qualification in a relevant technical discipline e.g. Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) or equivalent highly desirable.
Experience required:
- Experienced underwriter with a strong background in motor and/or home insurance.
- Experience of delivering KPIs, projects and objectives.
- Ideally have experience of leading, managing, supervising or coaching people.
- Knowledge of current industry developments and regulatory framework.
