Overview

Fleet Supervisor position based in Leeds.

This is a multi-site role covering various bases in the North and North East.

You will work alongside a small team of Ambulance Fleet Assistants (AFA), ensuring full compliance of routine scheduled mechanical, ancillary equipment and vehicle deep cleans.

Responsibilities

  • Allocate work schedules to Ambulance Fleet Assistants based on scheduled maintenance, VOR, reported defects and deep-clean requirements
  • Travel across the contract area to repair, service and maintain products/equipment as per manufacturer guidelines when required
  • Carry out checks and replacements of electrical components within EMED guidelines
  • Ensure tools and spare parts are safely stored and maintained
  • Maintain adequate supply of basic spare parts within the region and report defects per the defect process
  • Work safely and comply with Health and Safety and COSHH regulations
  • Inform Fleet management when a product cannot be repaired to a safe standard
  • Arrange for equipment non-repair on site to be returned to the manufacturer or for the manufacturer to attend the base
  • Report equipment involved in incidents to the Fleet management team
  • Carry out service and repair in accordance with manufacturer recommendations
  • Ensure vehicles for disposal are de-kitted before collection and maintain a log of equipment

Qualifications

  • Experience of repairing and servicing mechanical products
  • Experience of using practical and mechanical skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blown view drawings
  • Ability to identify improvements to processes and services
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, including ability to meet tight deadlines and work on own initiative
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with customers, colleagues and suppliers
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong commercial awareness of the company’s markets and industry
  • Client-focused, pragmatic approach with the ability to think on your feet
  • Flexible approach with strong teamwork skills
  • Leadership experience in managing or leading a team
  • Hold a full (manual) UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points
