We’re looking for kind, reliable and compassionate people to join our Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) team in Farnborough.

This is a role for someone who wants to make a real difference every day, supporting patients of all ages on their journeys to and from medical facilities.

  • Contract
  • This is a permanent, full-time role. The following shifts are available:
  • 09:00 - 21:00 Monday to Thursday
  • 10:00 - 22:00 Tuesday to Friday

Responsibilities

An ACA is a hugely rewarding and fulfilling role.

Each day, you’ll be helping someone in need, making their lives that little bit easier, and knowing that you make a difference to their day provides you with a real sense of achievement.

  • Drive patients to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities, either working with a colleague or independently.
  • Possess a full UK manual driving licence and maintain a good level of physical fitness for manual handling.
  • Assist in transportation of end-of-life patients with empathy at all times.
  • Build rapport by effectively communicating with patients and their relatives/friends.
  • Be responsible for lifting, securing and helping patients in and out of the ambulance.
  • Assist with handing over patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospitals or to family/friends at their homes.
  • Transfer patients between beds, stretchers, chairs, or similar in and out of hospital/medical settings.
  • Ensure the ambulance is kept safe, clean and tidy.

You don’t need previous ambulance experience; we provide full training.

Requirements

  • You hold a valid UK manual driving licence (6 points maximum).
  • You are committed to patient care.
  • You are an effective communicator and empathetic in often emotional circumstances.
  • You are physically fit for patient handling and moving.
  • You can pass an Enhanced DBS check (company funded).
  • You have a natural flair for teamwork and collaboration.
