We have a fantastic opportunity for an Ambulance Fleet Assistant (AFA) to join our team based in Shepton Mallet.
The AFA position ensures full compliance of routine scheduled mechanical and ancillary equipment, rectifying defects promptly and updating the fleet management system daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance of routine scheduled mechanical and ancillary equipment.
- Rectify reported defects in a timely manner and update Fleetcheck daily.
- Manage Vehicle Off Road (VOR) entries, update daily, and ensure defects are cleared with supporting documentation uploaded.
- Cover scheduled and non‑scheduled maintenance and repairs efficiently.
- Control parts stock levels and replenish as used.
- Repair, service and maintain equipment per manufacturer’s guidelines such as topping up washer fluid, oil changes, bulb and wiper changes.
- Schedule and perform vehicle deep cleans to a high standard with supporting documentation.
- Maintain adequate supply of basic spare parts and report defects following defect process.
- Work safely, adhering to Health and Safety and COSHH regulations.
- Advise fleet management team when a product cannot be repaired safely.
- Report equipment involved in incidents.
- Ensure all vehicles for disposal are de‑kitted before collection and logs taken.
- Working Hours
This is a part‑time position working 30 hours per week. Working hours are flexible and can be discussed at interview.
