GP at Hand is an NHS GP practice providing 24/7 digital-first care.

We provide appointments to our registered patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You can book a video or telephone appointment with any of our team of experienced clinicians, including: GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Pharmacists, Mental Health Practitioners & Physiotherapists.

For those occasions when patients do need to be seen in person, they can choose from any of our state-of-the-art clinics across London.

Located within easy reach of transport hubs, our clinics are purpose-designed to ensure you get the best experience and care.

Our operations team is looking for a full-time Clinical Receptionist to work in our GP at Hand clinics across London (Canary Wharf, Euston, Victoria, Wimbledon, and Fulham which works in partnership with Dr Jefferies and Partners).

You will provide high-quality, professional reception and administrative service to patients, clinicians, healthcare professionals, and visitors.

You will be patient centric , enthusiastic and friendly , acting as a first point of contact in the clinic.

To ensure that enquiries from patients and clinicians are efficiently and courteously handled.

In addition to this, you will be responsible for daily tasks that are essential to the daily operation of the clinics.

You are required to work on a rotating shift pattern within the hours of Monday to Saturday 7:30am to 8:00pm 40 hours per week across all clinics.

  • WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
  • Meet and greet our patients for our GP at hand services in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for the clinic location.
  • Effectively manage the reception area to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the clinic for patients, staff and visitors..
  • Handle outbound telephone calls at the clinic desk and answer Inbound calls when you are scheduled for a support/admin session.
  • Training on other support areas such as registrations, referrals and document processing and provide assistance to these tasks when scheduled on support/admin sessions.
  • Following up requests for appointments, information from hospitals, booking interpreters, etc.
  • Manage any bookings/rescheduled physical appointments for patients.
  • Administrative responsibilities including handling documents via inbound/outbound post, email, dealing with medical records etc.
  • Management of stock in clinics ensuring the appropriate stock levels are maintained.

This will include conducting timely stock checks to ensure there is no excess ordering and all items are within date.

  • Managing patient sample drop off / collection and liaise with our courier supplier.
  • Assist our patients with queries they may have about how to access rapid triage through our website and the service in general.
  • Be a key contact for clinicians and rota team, manage the communication channels between the clinicians and the wider department.
  • Be flexible as you may be required to provide cover at one of our London clinics with short notice depending on business requirements.
  • To be proactive and ensure that we have a clean and welcoming clinical environment at all times including the removal of used cups from the waiting area, emptying the general waste bin, etc.
  • To observe safe working practices, with respect to health and safety procedures, confidentiality and computer security.
  • Proactively invite patients to leave Google reviews following their visit, aiming to enhance the clinic’s online presence and maintain a high standard of patient satisfaction.
  • Contribute to delivering a safe and effective service in line with up to date requirements for Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Someone with receptionist experience.
  • Experience working in an environment with direct contact with the public.
  • Worked in a GP practice or healthcare organisation (not essential).
  • A self starter, driven and likes to take ownership of their work.
  • Able to communicate internally and externally providing a high level of service.
  • Good verbal and written skills to respond to enquiries.
  • Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail.
  • Be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
