The operations team at GP at Hand clinics is looking for a full-time Clinical Receptionist to work across London (Canary Wharf, Euston, Victoria, Wimbledon, and Fulham) in partnership with Dr Jefferies and Partners. You will provide high‑quality, professional reception and administrative service to patients, clinicians, healthcare professionals, and visitors. You will be patient‑centric, enthusiastic and friendly, acting as the first point of contact in the clinic, ensuring that enquiries from patients and clinicians are handled efficiently and courteously. In addition, you will be responsible for daily tasks essential to the clinic’s operation.
Work schedule: Rotating shift pattern Monday to Saturday 7:30 am – 8:00 pm, 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Meet and greet patients for GP at Hand services in a professional and friendly manner.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the clinic location.
- Effectively manage the reception area to ensure smooth operation for patients, staff and visitors.
- Handle outbound telephone calls at the clinic desk and answer inbound calls when scheduled for a support/admin session.
- Train on support areas such as registrations, referrals and document processing and provide assistance during scheduled sessions.
- Follow up on requests for appointments, information from hospitals, booking interpreters, etc.
- Manage bookings and reschedule physical appointments for patients.
- Administrative responsibilities including handling documents via inbound/outbound post, email, and medical records.
- Manage stock in clinics, perform stock checks to maintain appropriate levels.
- Handle patient sample drop‑off/collection and liaise with courier supplier.
- Assist patients with queries about accessing rapid triage through the website and services in general.
- Serve as key contact for clinicians and rota team, manage communication channels between clinicians and the wider department.
- Provide cover at clinics with short notice as required.
- Ensure a clean and welcoming clinical environment, including removal of used cups and emptying waste bin.
- Observe safe working practices, health and safety procedures, confidentiality and computer security.
- Invite patients to leave Google reviews to enhance online presence and patient satisfaction.
- Contribute to delivering a safe and effective service in line with up to date Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements.
Qualifications:
- Receptionist experience.
- Experience working in a public‑facing environment.
- Experience in a GP practice or healthcare organisation (not essential).
- Self‑starter, driven, ownership of work.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
