We have an opportunity for Volunteer Car Drivers to join our team based in Worksop/Oxford. Join us as a Patient Transport Volunteer Driver and help ensure vulnerable patients can access essential medical appointments on time with safety and comfort.
Our volunteer team is a diverse group united by a desire to make a positive difference in their communities. You’ll be the friendly face patients rely on during their journey to appointments, providing safe and reliable transportation while offering reassurance and support.
No prior experience is necessary—just your caring attitude, a 4- to 5-door car, and some spare time. Flexible hours are available to fit around your schedule.
By volunteering, you’ll give back to your community and support the NHS as part of the EMED Volunteer Team. You’ll receive a comprehensive induction, ongoing support, and opportunities to connect with new people.
Main duties- Drive patients to non-emergency medical appointments
- Coordinate with dispatch teams for seamless operations
- Foster positive relationships within the community
- Volunteer autonomously with support from a caring team
- A valid driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
- A friendly and empathetic demeanour
- Access to a 4-door (minimum) car

- Basic IT skills (e.g., using a smartphone)
- 50p per mile reimbursed for approved expenses
