Key Responsibilities- Transport elderly, sick and vulnerable service users to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities.
- Work as part of a two-person crew or alone, holding a full UK driving licence.
- Assist in the transportation of end-of-life service users, ensuring a high level of empathy.
- Build rapport by effectively communicating with patients and their relatives/friends.
- Assist with lifting, securing and helping service users in and out of the ambulance.
- Handover patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospitals or to family/friends at their homes.
- Transfer patients between beds, stretchers, chairs and other equipment both in and out of hospitals and during medical/commercial flights.
- Assist service users with challenging behaviour and/or mental health illnesses.
- Ensure the ambulance is kept safe, clean and tidy.
5 shifts a week (rolling rota covering variable days including some weekends – 37.5hrs p/w). The rota is fixed; part-time or set shifts are not available. Candidates must be able to commit to this pattern.
Qualifications- Committed to patient care.
- Effective communicator with experience in emotional circumstances.
- Calm, considerate, careful driver, with no more than three penalty points on your licence.
- Team player with collaboration skills.
- Physically fit for patient handling and moving.
- Pass Enhanced DBS check (company funded).
