Overview

We have a fantastic opportunity for Volunteer Car Drivers to join our team. Based in Keynsham (and serving local areas), you will be part of our Patient Transport Service, helping vulnerable patients access essential medical appointments on time with comfort and reassurance.

Your role as a Patient Transport Volunteer Driver is to provide safe and reliable transport, act as a friendly face, and support patients during their journey to appointments. No prior experience is necessary—just a caring attitude, a 4-5 door car, and some spare time. Flexible hours are available to fit around your schedule.

By volunteering, you will contribute to the NHS and join a growing team dedicated to enhancing patient care and making a real difference in people’s lives.

Main duties of the job

  • Drive patients to non-emergency medical appointments
  • Coordinate with dispatch teams for seamless operations
  • Foster positive relationships within the community
  • Volunteer independently while supported by a collaborative team

  • A valid driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
  • A friendly and empathetic demeanour
  • Access to a 4-door (minimum) car
