Medical Courier Service in Oldham

The main purpose of the courier driver role is to contribute to the safe and timely movement and transportation of goods and equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out courier journeys to various locations and to agreed routes and timings.
• Complete digital and manual documentation required by both legislation and organisational procedures.
• Maintain regular contact with the operations office using a range of communication systems.
• Ensure all items are always kept safe and secure.
• Always comply with the Road Traffic Act while driving and other relevant legislation connected to the vehicle.
• Act as customer contact at delivery points of service, and relay relevant information to the operations office.
• Complete vehicle checks prior to use, and notify any defects to the Operations Office verbally and by recording on appropriate documentation.
• Always act in a polite and courteous manner to customers and road users.
• Use electronic and paper-based forms of recording tasks and items delivered and collected, making sure that all courier tasks are carried out correctly and to scheduled times.
• Engage in heavy lifting/manual handling of equipment and goods, using a tail lift and loading/unloading and moving of roll cages.
• Drive vehicles from small vans up to 3.5 tonne Luton vans, which can be driven on the category B part of the UK driving licence.

Qualifications:

• Must have held a Full UK Manual Driving Licence for a minimum of 12 months and have no more than 6 penalty points.
• Must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
• Must be able to plan routes effectively.
• Must be a good communicator.

• Must be able to use a PDA (training will be provided).

Employment Details:

• This is a take‐home vehicle position working full time (47.5 paid hours per week working Monday to Friday 08:00-18:00). Please note, this is a 6 month fixed term contract.
