Overview

We have a fantastic opportunity for a part‑time Courier Driver for 35 hours per week. The main purpose of the courier driver role is to contribute to the safe and timely movement and transportation of goods, medical records, pharmacy stock, surgical sets and linen between hospital sites in the Kings Lynn area. The candidate will be required to work between the hours of 06:45–14:45 Monday to Friday and live within 30 minutes of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kings Lynn. The candidate must be physically fit due to the lifting requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out courier journeys to various locations and to agreed routes and timings.
  • Complete digital and manual documentation required by both legislation and organisational procedures.
  • Maintain regular contact with the operations office using a range of communication systems.
  • Ensure all items are always kept safe and secure.
  • Always comply with the Road Traffic Act while driving and other relevant legislation connected to the vehicle.
  • Act as customer contact at delivery points of service, and relay relevant information to the operations office.
  • Complete vehicle checks prior to use, and notify any defects to the Operations Office verbally and by recording on appropriate documentation.
  • Always act in a polite and courteous manner to customers and road users.
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence for a minimum of 12 months and have no more than 6 penalty points.
