Job description - the role
Purpose of the role:
- Support the production and delivery of turbine blades in line with committed requirements, quality standards, and prescribed manufacturing processes.
- Carry out inspection and manufacturing activities to ensure products meet customer and engineering specifications.
- Contribute to a safe, efficient, and continuously improving manufacturing environment while supporting the success of Turbine Systems.
What you’ll do:
- Perform inspection and quality control activities on turbine blade components to ensure compliance with manufacturing and customer requirements.
- Operate flexibly across manufacturing processes including inspection, CMM operations, engraving, polishing, airflow testing, and weld-related activities.
- Support machine tools and production equipment, including part loading/unloading, consumable management, and routine inspection activities.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure the working environment is kept to optimum standards.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to produce high-quality products and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide support, guidance, and coaching to team members where required.
The skills you’ll need:
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow technical instructions and manufacturing procedures.
- Ability to identify issues and follow defined processes to resolve them.
- Experience supporting or operating machinery within a production environment would be advantageous.
- Manufacturing experience from sectors such as aerospace, automotive, rail, or similar engineering industries is welcomed.
- Flexibility to work a 3-shift pattern and adapt across multiple manufacturing processes.
