Job Details
We require an enthusiastic, reliable and pro-active Premises Officer to join our dedicated Premises Team. You would be expected to provide a high level of service, integral to the smooth running of the school, providing a safe and welcoming environment for us to work in and for our students to enjoy. The role is varied and your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- ensuring site security/locking and unlocking
- carrying out preventive maintenance checks
- minor building and furniture repairs e.g. basic plumbing, electrical work and carpentry
- internal and external waste removal
- general portage
- liaison with external contractors and hirers
The Premises team works in a dynamic environment whereby no two days are the same. You should enjoy a variety of tasks, and be an important part of this vital cog in the school operations.
Salary: Grade 4/5 Depending on experience, £26,784 - £27,642
Contract Type: Full Time
Working Pattern: Rotating shifts that cover core hours between 6.45 am and 9.30pm, with occasional attendance for school events and hirers. (overtime paid)

What You Need to Succeed
Main Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities shared in the Premises team include:
- Compliance includes: Fire Alarm testing, Water testing (legionella), Electrical - emergency light testing
- School Maintenance includes: Plumbing, Drain cleaning, Minor electrical repairs, Some grounds work assistance, Ice, snow and path clearing, Painting and decorating
- School Portage includes: Movement of deliveries, Furniture movements e.g. assembly, exam and show set ups, Moving waste and recycling
- Site cleanliness includes: Litter Management, Recycling, Some adhoc cleaning as required, Responding to adhoc requests during the school day
- Site Security includes: Rota to cover school unlocking at the start of day, Rota to cover school locking at the end of the day, Some shared evening and weekend lock up (overtime paid), Responding as part of the premises team to school hours fire alarm activations.
- Vehicles includes: Weekly checks on school vehicles, Some cleaning, Refuelling
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS includes: Participating in the School’s appraisal system, Being aware of and complying with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the Headteacher; Promoting the school’s policy on Culture for Learning and a commitment to providing a caring and stimulating environment for improving standards for all students within the school; Undertaking other such duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post.
