We are seeking a Facilities Officer to join our Facilities Management team. You will play a pivotal part in our Property and Assets directorate as a Facilities Officer. The Facilities Management team manages a portfolio of properties. This service provides support and guidance to managers of services including office waste disposal, some grounds maintenance, daily on-site tasks and basic plumbing.
You will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of a range of essential Facilities and Building Management Services. This role is customer facing and will involve developing good working relationships with a wide and diverse range of people such as Senior Management, your facilities colleagues, service users and members of the public.
About the role
- Salary: £27,254 to £28,598 per annum.
- Location: Your office base will be Chichester, covering multiple sites daily.
- Working pattern: Full-time, 37 hours per week Monday - Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm.
About The Job
Reporting to the Area Facilities Manager, you will work within a team managing maintenance and compliance at County Council buildings and ensuring a safe environment for staff and customers. You will be responsible for the effective and efficient provision of a range of essential Facilities and Building Management Services and implementing regulations that directly impact the health and safety of the building occupiers and visitors. You would be expected to cover a range of different services within the WSCC property portfolio including fire services, libraries, adult services etc. You would start your day at our Worthing office before using a company van to travel to a variety of sites depending on your day. We operate an on-call rota, whereby you would be expected to keep your work phone on in case of an emergency at a site.

Rewards and Benefits
You will have good communication skills with the ability to communicate within all levels of the business and appropriately manage customer expectations. You will also possess a working knowledge of maintenance and general facility matters including health and safety, fire safety, statutory compliance, and a keen eye for improvement. The job does involve some ongoing physical effort as well as some exposure to environmental demands on the job holder (e.g., outside maintenance, making site visits during an emergency call out in any weather). You will bring practical facilities and building knowledge along with good customer service skills to our Facilities Management Team.
