An experienced and exceptional Contract Lead who can lead on contract management of our Hospital Discharge contracts, working with our NHS partners and providers to ensure there is a range of services available for people coming out of hospital, reviewing arrangements and supporting ongoing commissioning activity.
The teams work closely with partners and providers to ensure services are in place to support people to be discharged from hospital when they are ready and no longer need hospital care. Commissioning ensures that there are a range of services to support people, and where possible people are supported to return home with the care and support that they need.
About you
You will have a strong understanding of the important role that Adult Social Care can play in people’s lives and a commitment to making the customer experience better by working collaboratively with partners and providers. You will have strong analytical, literacy, problem solving and project management skills to manage contracts and produce technical reports which make evidence-based recommendations. You will have strong interpersonal, influencing and persuasion skills to work across organisations and the market to deliver improvements and change. You will have experience or an excellent understanding of working in a public sector environment. You will have a degree or equivalent qualification or experience which demonstrates that level of applied knowledge and understanding to deliver the role.

The Older People’s Commissioning Team, part of West Sussex County Council’s Adults Social Care Department, works with a range of resident representatives, service providers, partners, and internal teams to commission services that support older people with care needs to live the lives they want to lead. In this role, you will be an important part of the work, ensuring that services and solutions are available to people across the county to meet the care and support needs of our residents.

Salary: NJC Grade 12 £49,817 to £53,051 per annum
Working Pattern: Full Time (37 hours Monday - Friday)
Contract Length: Permanent
Location: Hybrid working - Office base is Chichester County Hall please note the role requires regular travel across the county
You will need to be able to travel independently around the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool cars and pool bikes available.
