An international group is looking for a Chief Accountant to own the day-to-day accounting for its UK entities. Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a hands‑on, standalone role focused on accurate financial records, statutory reporting, SAP support, and audit coordination. This role is based in central London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day accounting, including GL, AP/AR, payments, and reconciliations
  • Lead month-end and year-end close for UK entities
  • Prepare standalone statutory accounts and support group reporting
  • Act as main contact for external auditors and tax advisors
  • Support SAP implementation, data migration, and system accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS and internal controls

Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience in Accounting, Reporting, or Audit
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP or IFRS
  • Knowledge of IFRS 10
  • Experience preparing statutory financial statements
  • Hands‑on ERP experience (SAP strongly preferred)
  • Comfortable working independently and with senior stakeholders
