Job Purpose:

To deliver individual or multiple projects related to new works within allocated budgets and defined programmes. To be able to manage direct and subcontract labour and produce the required reports for all works.

Key duties:

  1. Prepare specifications briefs in consultation with staff
  2. Complete works as per the SOR and within the parameters of the work books.
  3. Prepare extra work SORs and collaborate with the commercial teams to issue them.
  4. Prepare labour plans and update labour trackers with real-time information.
  5. Appoint and manage specialist contractors for the SORs.
  6. Attend regular approval meetings with client interface.
  7. Work with the SPM & site supervisors to ensure works are on target, update programs, and prepare weekly project reports for the client.
  8. Manage work through to completion and submit for invoicing.
  9. Ensure all works comply with EMCOR standard operating procedures and health and safety regulations.
  10. Conduct weekly housekeeping checks of the building and grounds, ensuring safety and hazard-free conditions.
  11. Undertake company internal training workshops and work according to GMP (if applicable).
  12. Respond to requests made via administration and other EMCOR functions.
  13. Ensure all RAMS are suitable, sufficient, and adhered to, whether work is subcontracted or in-house.
  14. Follow the contract and EMCOR procurement policies.
  15. Manage projects from design input to commissioning, handover, and invoicing.
  16. Coordinate procurement and resource planning according to contract needs.
  17. Implement and maintain EMCOR quality control systems and procedures.
  18. Maintain records for audits by EMCOR and the client.
  19. Develop and maintain good relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  20. Manage all health and safety matters (CDM) per EMCOR procedures and legislation.
  21. Ensure successful project completion and formal handover as per client requirements.
  22. Maintain compliance with EMCOR policies and procedures.
  23. Produce and amend working programs, weekly reports, and task completion percentages.

Person Specification

Skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Operational and technical expertise with leadership potential.
  • Qualifications or apprenticeship in a craft or engineering discipline.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
  • Successful delivery of multi-task building, electrical, and mechanical projects.
  • Ability to liaise with and supervise contractors.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others, reliable, responsible.
  • IT skills, especially Microsoft Office and basic Microsoft Project.
  • Sufficient CDM health and safety experience for project management.
  • Preferably holds SMSTS, SSSTS, or IOSH certifications.
