Role Overview
Deliver individual or multiple projects related to new works within allocated budgets and defined programmes. Manage direct and subcontracted labour, produce required reports, and ensure project delivery aligns with EMCOR standards, health and safety regulations, and client expectations.
What You’ll Do
- Possess a good electrical knowledge and experience to deliver electrically biased projects (advantageous but not essential).
- Maintain accurate site records and documentation.
- Prepare specification briefs in consultation with staff.
- Commission works as per the SOR and work within the parameters of the work books.
- Prepare extra work SORs and coordinate with commercial teams to issue them.
- Develop labour plans and update labour trackers with real‑life information.
- Appoint and manage specialist contractors for the SORs.
- Attend regular approval meetings with client interface.
- Collaborate with the SPM & site supervisors to keep works on target and update programs and weekly reports for the client & subcontractors.
- Manage work through to effective completion and submit for invoicing.
- Ensure all works comply with EMCOR standard operating procedures and health and safety regulations.
- Conduct weekly housekeeping checks of the building and grounds, ensuring all areas are safe and hazard free.
- Complete company standard internal training workshops and work to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) where applicable.
- Respond to requests via the administration function and other EMCOR functions.
- Ensure all RAMS are suitable and adhered to, whether work is subcontracted or delivered by an in‑house team.
- Follow contract and procurement policies.
- Oversee projects from input to design specification, tender, installation to commissioning, practical completion, handover and invoicing.
- Coordinate procurement and resource planning within contract requirements.
- Implement and maintain EMCOR quality control systems and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate record keeping for EMCOR and client audits.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Manage all health and safety matters (CDM) in accordance with EMCOR procedures and relevant legislation.
- Take responsibility for successful project completion and formal handover as outlined by the client.
- Ensure compliance with all EMCOR policies and procedures.
- Produce working programmes and amend issues with weekly reports, including % completed against each task.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven and extensive experience in a similar role.
- Operational and technical experience with demonstrated potential.
- Technical expertise, qualifications or apprenticeship in a craft skill or engineering discipline (important prerequisite).
- Proven experience in project management.
- Ability to plan and organise work effectively to meet changing environments and needs.
- Proven track record of successful delivery of multi‑task building, electrical and mechanical services projects.
- Ability to liaise with and supervise contractors.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Demonstrable skills in dealing and working closely with internal and external customers and suppliers on complex issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills at all levels.
- Self‑motivated, reliable and able to act with responsibility.
- IT skills – Microsoft Office suite.
- Basic Microsoft Project proficiency.
- Sufficient health and safety (CDM) experience for effective project running.
- Preferably hold SMSTS or IOSH.
