Role Overview
To ensure that the delivery of electrical aspects is conducted in an effective, efficient and professional manner to the complete satisfaction of our customers. To ensure installations are to current regulations and to work as a team member.
What You\’ll Do
- Able to demonstrate a proven track record with post-apprenticeship experience of project installation work.
- Two years’ experience working as an Electrician after training and prior to applying for this grade.
- Approved Electricians must possess practical, productive and electrical engineering skills with adequate technical supervisory knowledge to work on their own and carry out installations efficiently.
- Set out jobs from drawings and specifications and requisition necessary installation materials.
- Take responsibility for the proper completion of jobs and supervise other operatives if required.
- Install and modify electrical components and systems (1st fix containment, 2nd fix installations, power & lighting, including commissioning).
- Keep administration teams updated on order changes when collecting materials from wholesalers.
- Carry out all testing and inspection to enable completion of certification.
- Assist the Project Manager / Supervisor with information to enable estimates/quotations.
- Conform to safety rules and apply good engineering and safety practices.
- Install tray, ladder, conduits etc. as per construction drawings.
- Undertake company standard internal training workshops and complete mandatory training.
- Provide progress information per Project Programme and follow RAMS.
- Adhere to all current company procedures and the Quality Management System for M&E.
- Work as a team member and develop relationships with customers and potential new customers.
- Drive continuous improvement and value for money.
- Willing to work in secure and sensitive environments.
- If a van is issued, keep it clean and tidy and store materials safely.
About the Role
- Qualified to City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent NVQ & C&G 2382-10 18th Edition (minimum).
- C&G 2391-10 Inspection & Testing; 2391-20 Design & Verification preferred but not required.
- Experience of commercial electrical installations and LV distribution systems.
- Experience with DC/UPS systems is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience of safe working practices and permit to work systems.
- Strong customer and supplier relationship skills; effective communication and flexible work patterns.
- First Aid, IPAF and PASMA training available if required; SMSTS/SSSTS or IOSH preferred.
- UK travel may be required; valid UK Driving Licence required.
- Health, Safety and Wellbeing – to work at height and under CDM regs; wear corporate PPE.
