Role: Maintenance Operative

Location: Alexandra Dock, Hull HU9 1TA

Salary: £30,900 per annum + overtime

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

Role Overview

Duties include supporting the Supervisor with conducting maintenance and routine checks across all buildings within the site. Tasks may include painting, unskilled carpentry, and small plumbing works. You will also be involved in disinfections of water systems and cooling towers. The role may include the following duties:

Duties

  • Carry out routine checks and temperature monitoring of water systems
  • Record readings and produce defect reports on the results
  • Carry out cleans and disinfections of water systems and cooling towers
  • Assist in the production of legionella risk assessments
  • Obtain laboratory samples and conduct chemical analysis of water to monitor bacterial growth
  • Carry out routine functional RCD testing, periodic emergency light testing and testing of portable appliances (PAT)
  • Perform reactive tasks as trained to do so
  • Perform round routes, filter changes and greasing/oiling of plant and equipment
  • Perform activities using different technologies (including thermographic camera and vibration analysis) and collect data for analysis
  • Escorting of sub-contractors/personnel who require escorting in order to complete their activities
  • Complete and maintain records and paperwork in support of the above activities, including AMS work orders, delivery notes, Take 5s, AORs and other documents
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, in accordance with Safe Operating Procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and represent EMCOR professionally
  • Comply with reasonable requests from line manager

Who You\’ll Be

  • Understanding of the facilities services industry is advantageous; basic appreciation of building services is essential
  • A proven track record in a similar or customer-facing role is desirable
  • Candidate must be numerate and literate with attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal and customer relationship skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Computer literacy is desirable
