Role Overview: To ensure that the delivery of electrical aspects is performed in an effective, efficient, and professional manner to the complete satisfaction of our customers, with installations compliant with current regulations and the ability to work as a team member.
What youβll do:
- Demonstrate a proven track record with post-apprenticeship experience of project installation work.
- Two yearsβ experience working as an Electrician after training and before applying for this grade.
- Possess practical, productive and electrical engineering skills with supervisory capability to work independently and install electrical systems efficiently and economically.
- Set out jobs from drawings and specifications and requisition installation materials.
- Take responsibility for the proper completion of jobs and supervise other operatives if required.
- Install and modify electrical components and systems (1st fix containment, 2nd fix installations, power & lighting, commissioning).
- Keep administration teams updated on changes of order when collecting materials from wholesalers.
- Carry out testing and inspection to enable certification completion.
- Assist the Project Manager / Supervisor with information for estimates/quotations as required.
- Conform to safety rules and apply good engineering and safety practices.
- Install trays, ladders, conduits, etc., as per construction drawings.
- Undertake company standard internal training workshops and complete mandatory training.
- Provide progress information per the Project Programme and follow RAMS.
- Adhere to all current company procedures and the Quality Management System for M&E systems.
- Work as a team member and develop relationships with customers and potential new customers.
- Drive continuous improvement and value for money; be willing to work in secure and sensitive environments.
- If a van is issued, keep it clean and tidy and store materials safely.
About the role / Qualifications:
- Qualified to City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent NVQ & C&G 2382-10 18th Edition (minimum).
- C&G 2391-10 Inspection & Testing; C&G 2391-20 Design & Verification preferred but not required.
- Experience of commercial electrical installations and LV distribution systems.
- Experience of DC/UPS systems is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience of safe working practices and permit to work systems.
- Demonstrable skills in dealing with internal/external customers and suppliers on complex issues.
- Effective communication and flexible approach to work patterns.
- First Aid, IPAF and PASMA training provided if required; advantageous if already certified.
- Preferably SMSTS, SSSTS or IOSH certification.
- UK travel may be required; must hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
- Health, Safety and Wellbeing β ability to work at height & under CDM regs; wear corporate PPE.
