Role Overview
Salary: ÂŁ50,000 pa + Car Allowance
Hours: Monday – Friday 9 am‑5 pm
Location: Mobile role – covering the North to Scotland when required (Barnsley hub)

The Data Centre Assurance Manager role ensures compliance with regulatory, industry, and company standards in data‑centre operations and oversees health, safety, environmental and quality assurance programmes.
What You’ll Do
- Provide expert technical knowledge to managers to enable compliance with health and safety across design‑build‑manage‑maintain construction projects (values £100 k‑£25 m).
- Monitor, report and support project managers to ensure compliance with client and designer duties under CDM 2015 regulations.
- Maintain awareness of building regulations and appropriate competencies of PD/PC.
- Support the development of Risk Assessment Method Statements as required.
- Implement current legislation and EMCOR UK/client processes and procedures.
- Assist site teams in developing construction phase plans prior to commencement.
- Conduct regular health and safety compliance evaluations, inspections and audits; record outputs and follow up on actions.
- Ensure construction sites and welfare provisions meet all current regulations and standards.
- Promote a “Be There For Life” culture that embraces EHS and wellbeing principles.
- Support investigation of accidents, incidents and near‑miss events and share lessons learned.
- Maintain accreditation to ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 (internal and external).
- Develop and roll out strategies, policies and guidelines that support mental and physical wellbeing.
- Represent EMCOR UK at stakeholder forums as required.
- Produce regular reports on health, safety, quality, environment and wellbeing performance for internal and external audiences.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with site HSQE requirements.
- Manage delivery of contract deliverables and nurture collaborative relationships with client HSEQ&W representatives.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, providing technical guidance and taking appropriate action when standards are not met.
Who You’ll Be
- Qualified to NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (minimum).
- Knowledge of HSQE systems that meet ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with empathy, discretion and diplomacy.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with internal, customer and supplier audiences at all levels.
- Strong problem‑resolution skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with SharePoint.
- Good interpersonal, teamwork, decision‑making and communication abilities.
- Ability to think quickly, address immediate issues while keeping long‑term goals in view.
- High personal integrity, professionalism and adaptability to change.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in construction.
- Capability to work independently and deliver key objectives.
