Carrying out LOLER and PUWER inspections on Mechanical and Hydraulic Ground Support Equipment (GSE) at Heathrow Airport, working within a team of inspectors to ensure our client British Airways is compliant. The equipment is varied and located over a large area, so the role will involve lots of travel around the engineering sites to locate equipment requiring inspection. This role plays a critical part in ensuring British Airways can carry out its engineering work safely and effectively.
Qualifications
- Mechanical bias Engineering qualification, minimum of NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) but ideally HNC.
- Proven hands‑on experience in maintaining, repairing and servicing of mechanical equipment (vehicles/GSE/lifting equipment).
- Experience in Inspecting would be highly advantageous, as would holding any LEEA certificates.
- Good understanding of LOLER and PUWER regulations.
- IT literacy skills, as inspections will be completed on a handheld device.
- Experience using Microsoft Office would be advantageous.
- Must be able to write clear inspection reports for equipment, detailing any defects or recommendations.
- Must be able to work collaboratively within a wider team of maintenance and administration staff on the contract, and willing to carry out any reasonable request by management in support of the contract.

- Confidence to certify equipment’s serviceability state, writing reports for any defects, passing these reports to our client, offering any technical advice required.
- Ability to work in a variety of environments including at height and be able to complete all required risk assessments.
- Must be a team player, willing to support your other colleagues on the contract and ensure we hit our contractual SLA’s.
- Must be able to pass a CRC to obtain airside pass.
- Must have a full UK Driving License.
- Must be able to provide 5 years employment history with references, explaining any gaps in work to obtain airside pass.
