Role Overview:
- Reporting to the National Commissioning manager, you will assist in developing and growing a commissioning team for our various Data Centre clients.
- Ensure that a planned, programmed, auditable and structured approach to the commissioning process is carried out to the highest standards.
- Supervise EMCOR engineers and third parties for commissioning activities to ensure safe, compliant, and accurate testing is achieved.
- Write and Review Commissioning procedures and Safe System of Work for suitability of the activity.
- Plan onsite commissioning activities including having an approved commissioning procedure, an approved Safe System of Work and co-ordination with other working parties.
- Ensure all required test equipment is available and within date calibration records.
- Successfully deliver pre-start briefing to entire working party including client witnesses for the commissioning.
- Ensure the commissioning documents and safe systems of work are followed by all involved in the activity.
- Witness and close out commissioning activities through to client acceptance or handover.
- Raise technical issues and seek guidance from the National commissioning manager or engineering support.
- Lead onsite commissioning activities in accordance with the testing and project programme.
- Conduct tests and inspections to verify that equipment and systems are installed correctly and function as per design.
- Work closely with the Project Management Teams to ensure the requirements for the Commissioning phases are clearly communicated and understood.
About The Role:
The position requires good communications skills to establish and communicate all systems required for successful execution of the Commissioning scope/plan. The candidate requires significant technical experience in Mechanical services, including pumps, valves, pipework and HVAC systems. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of professional & technical experience as a commissioning engineer in the Data centre environment, being familiar with the commissioning process and different levels of testing throughout the project phases. Ideally, but not essential to have good knowledge and understanding of electrical and standby power systems.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills Including:
- Methodical thinker, able to divide a job into small logical progressive steps.
- Extensive experience in the use of procedures and workflows in the execution of projects.
- Good working knowledge of design review and reporting technologies.
- Good IT skills.
