You will support the design, installation, commissioning and Handover of multiple Power Generation installation projects within the Data Centre Arena within allocated budgets and programmes.
- What You’ll Do
- Design and implement control systems for generator, power distribution, and fuel delivery applications.
- Develop breaker logic, interlocks, protection schemes, and automation sequences.
- Interpret LV/HV schematics and wiring diagrams for integration and fault‑finding.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation such as I/O lists, control philosophies, and test protocols.
- Produce accurate project‑specific engineering documents and support technical delivery.
- Understand contractual obligations, milestones, and H&S requirements.
- Prepare technical briefs and review subcontractor and supplier submissions.
- Commission control systems and perform functional and performance testing.
- Support and conduct FATs and SATs for control panels and generator systems
- Manage and close out snags, defects, and testing issues.
- Support site installation, energisation, and integration activities.
- Ensure suitable RAMS are in place for all works
- Who You’ll Be
- Strong understanding of LV/HV schematics, switchgear control, and electrical protection.
- Experience with standby power systems (generators, UPS) and their control systems.
- Hands on experience with DSE/Com Ap controllers (Inteli Gen, Inteli Sys, etc.).
- Knowledge of G99/G59 grid protection and generator paralleling (islanded and grid connected).
- Good working knowledge of BS 7671, IEC standards, and safe switching procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and control schematics.
- Understanding of Health & Safety legislation and CDM responsibilities.
- Current BS 7671 qualification.
- Experience with Modbus/TCP/IP or other industrial communication protocols.
- Familiarity with Auto CAD
