Job Overview
A motivated and reliable Construction Quantity Surveying Apprentice to support our experienced quantity surveyors in delivering cost management and commercial solutions across a variety of construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist with day‑to‑day management, on a project‑by‑project basis, of commercial risk evaluation to pursue an optimum successful outcome, whilst ensuring mitigating factors are dealt with and reporting to the Senior QS on a regular basis.
- Assist in managing all sub‑contract packages from commencement through to completion, agreeing all variations and final accounts in a timely manner consistent with contractual time frames.
- Negotiate with suppliers and sub‑contractors throughout the project to secure best value.
- Improve profitability and competitive performance through sales and negotiation skills and maximising opportunities.
- Assist in preparing cost workbooks and variation accounts promptly.
- Prepare all valuations and final accounts in accordance with the contracts and submit them to clients for approval.
- Prepare and present detailed contract review data to the projects team and director monthly, providing accurate contract performance projections for revenue and gross margin.
- Attend off‑the‑job training (e. g., college, technical training provider) as part of the apprenticeship programme.
