Commercial Lead / Commercial Manager – Data Centres | Nordic Rotation

Emco Talent is supporting a leading international contractor in the recruitment of an experienced Commercial Lead / Commercial Manager to join its commercial leadership team on major hyperscale data centre projects across the Nordics.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to take ownership of the commercial delivery of a major MEP & CSA package on one of Europe's largest mission-critical construction projects.

Working within a highly experienced project team, you will lead the commercial function from pre-construction through to project completion, managing both the commercial team and the client relationship to ensure successful project delivery.

The Role

As Commercial Lead, you will be responsible for the overall commercial performance of a major data centre project, leading a team of Senior Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors while working closely with Project Directors, Construction Managers and client representatives.

You will play a key role in developing commercial strategy, managing project risk, overseeing forecasting and reporting, and ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

This role offers the opportunity to work on high-value, technically challenging projects within one of the fastest-growing sectors in construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial delivery of a major MEP & CSA package.
  • Manage and mentor a commercial team including Senior Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors.
  • Act as the principal commercial interface for clients and key project stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategy throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee project budgets, forecasting, reporting and cost control.
  • Lead change management, variations, negotiations and final accounts.
  • Identify and manage commercial risk across the project.
  • Chair commercial meetings and provide commercial leadership to the wider project team.
  • Work closely with operational leadership to maximise project performance and profitability.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience working within a main contractor environment.
  • Previous experience as a Commercial Manager, Commercial Lead, Managing Quantity Surveyor or similar senior commercial role.
  • Proven experience delivering major construction projects.
  • Experience within data centres, mission-critical, MEP, CSA, pharmaceutical or large industrial projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent client-facing, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong contractual and commercial knowledge.
  • Willingness to work on a rotational basis across the Nordics.
