Why This Role Exists (and Why It’s Awesome)
The Proposal Content Lead role exists to help emc3 win the work that matters most. In a competitive pitch environment, great ideas aren’t enough - they need to be told clearly, confidently, and compellingly. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and commercial thinking, shaping how emc3 shows up to clients through proposals and pitches.
You are the guardian of the story - owning the “red thread” that runs from brief to submission, ensuring every proposal is strategically sharp, emotionally engaging, visually impactful, and commercially credible. Working closely with Creative, Technical, and Client teams, you turn complex briefs into persuasive narratives that align client objectives, business strategy, and creative ambition.
It’s a chance to influence big decisions, elevate how ideas are communicated, and play a pivotal role in winning exciting, high-profile projects - all while helping evolve emc3’s pitch culture, storytelling standards, and IP.
Day-to-Day Magic:
- Interpret client briefs and RFPs, identifying objectives, assessment criteria, and what will truly differentiate emc3.
- Define the win strategy, value proposition, and overarching narrative for each proposal or pitch.
- Own the “red thread” from kick-off to submission - ensuring clarity, consistency, and impact throughout.
- Lead targeted research to strengthen strategic positioning and storytelling.
- Collaborate with Creative, Technical, and Client teams to shape compelling, feasible solutions.
- Develop end-to-end storyboards that map the attendee journey from first touchpoint through live experience and beyond.
- Shape production and delivery narratives that balance ambition with feasibility, scalability, and budget.
- Guide the development of visuals, graphics, and themes alongside Creative and Design teams.
- Ensure content is brief-specific, strategically relevant, commercially credible, creatively differentiated, and logically coherent.
- Maintain oversight of structure, timelines, and quality — ensuring proposals are accurate, polished, and pitch-ready.
- Shape how pitches are delivered live, including flow, roles, emphasis, and presenter coaching.
- Attend client pitches where appropriate, supporting confident, compelling storytelling in the room.
- Capture learnings from wins and losses to continuously improve emc3’s pitch frameworks and methodologies.
What You’ll Bring:
- Proven experience shaping proposals, pitches, or strategic narratives within events, marketing, or related industries.
- Exceptional storytelling, narrative structuring, and persuasive communication skills.
- Strong strategic thinking with commercial awareness and an understanding of what wins work.
- Confidence collaborating across Creative, Technical, and Client teams.
- The ability to balance bold creative ambition with practical delivery and budget realities.
- Excellent copywriting and content development skills.
- A calm, structured approach to managing multiple deadlines and complex inputs.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client objectives.
- Experience operating at senior level within events or a comparable environment (Executive Producer-level experience a plus).
- Confidence supporting - and occasionally leading - client pitch presentations.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to influence, coach, and inspire others.
