Join our growing team and play a key role in delivering cutting‑edge EMC testing solutions. This hands‑on role involves performing EMC testing activities, testing and calibration of EMC equipment, supporting internal and external customers, and acting as a technical contact across the business. The role is full time based at our Shefford premises.

Responsibilities

  • Testing record results and prepare reports.
  • Work closely with other EMC Engineers and Technicians to expedite projects.
  • Equipment Management: Configure, maintain, calibrate and validate EMC equipment; build new test jigs.
  • Handle chamber and equipment calibration using third‑party service providers.
  • Perform various in‑service test equipment verification checks.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical advice both remotely and in person, on‑site visits, and guidance on standards and test methodologies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support process development and improvement projects including test and calibration procedures and new test methodologies.

You will bring a strong technical background, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset. If you have a strong electronics foundation and a passion for EMC, we'll provide the training you need to succeed.

Essential Requirements

  • HNC or equivalent qualification in Electronics or related discipline
  • Electrical knowledge is a must
  • A positive attitude, demonstrating reliability, flexibility and enthusiasm with strong customer focus
  • Ability and desire to learn
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet deadlines
  • Full UK Driving licence

Desirable

  • Proven experience in EMC and/or RF engineering
  • Familiarity with EMC standards and RF spectrum
  • Experience using EMC test equipment
  • Previous experience in Defence, Communications, or Electronics environments
  • Degree or an equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Approx. 2 years' EMC experience (preferred but not essential)
