We have an exciting opportunity which has arisen in a highly skilled EMC (Electro‑magnetic Compatibility) and RE (Radiation Effects) projects team for a new team leader, based in Bristol. The EMC team provides specialist advice, strategy and guidance to all complex EMC programmes from concept through design, proving and into service.

You will work across multiple programmes and across three main strands: requirements, design and proving. You will have access to extensive military EMC test capabilities also managed separately within the EMC department, which will be used to qualify product developments against the electromagnetic environment requirements. Your team will be responsible for investigating and/or deploying novel digital proving techniques and methodology. In addition to supporting the project teams directly, you will be managing and coordinating the project activities your team performs.

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in a STEM related subject with experience in a similar role or looking to take the next step
  • The ability to manage activities on time, on cost and on quality, deploying key project management principles to ensure delivery success
  • Adaptability – a proactive, willing, helpful attitude and a calm professional manner, even when things change at the last minute
  • A clear passion for people management and development – investing in the growth of team members through feedback, training and mentorship
  • A high level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to help foster a positive, inclusive and supportive environment
  • Knowledge of electrical, electronic and electromagnetic engineering is highly desirable, but not essential
  • The role will require a basic understanding of EMC; however, this can be developed in the role
  • UK security clearance will be required. This will require you to be either a full UK citizen or a dual national with British citizenship.
