SC Clearance process required (Must be a UK citizen or dual nationality)

Are you a hands-on Network Engineer who thrives on implementation and delivery? Do you want to be the \”go-to\” technical expert for Fortinet solutions without the heavy burden of full architectural design?

We are working with a fast-growing, agile technology disruptor based in Derby. They partner with high-profile blue-chip customers across the UK to deliver cutting-edge network transformations. As they continue to scale, they are looking for a dedicated Network Engineer to take full ownership of our network implementations.

The Role: Impact & Ownership

As the sole Network Engineer in the business, you will work directly alongside an experienced Network Architect. You won\\\’t just be maintaining legacy systems; you will be at the heart of greenfield installations and complex network transformations.

  • Implement & Deliver: Take architected designs (LLDs) and bring them to life across diverse customer environments.
  • Fortinet Specialist: Lead the configuration and deployment of FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Collaborate: Act as the technical bridge between design and reality, providing Fortinet-specific input to the Architect.
  • Autonomy: Manage your own workload in a fast-paced, project-driven environment where your expertise is trusted.

What We’re Looking For

We value proven, hands-on ability. You should have 5+ years of experience operating at a CCNA or Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) level.

Must-Haves:

  • Deep Fortinet Expertise: Practical experience with FortiGate HA, FortiLink, MCLAG, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer.
  • Networking Core: Strong mastery of TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF/BGP routing, and VPN technologies.
  • Project Delivery: A track record of delivering greenfield deployments and producing high-quality \”as-built\” documentation.
  • Location & Mobility: Based in or near Derby, with a full UK driving licence for occasional travel to customer sites and data centres.
  • Security Clearance: You must hold current SC Clearance or be eligible and willing to undergo the process (requires meeting UK residency requirements).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Formal certifications (NSE4/FCP, CCNA/CCNP).
  • Experience withCisco LAN or Cloud networking (Azure/AWS).
  • Background working in regulated or SC-cleared environments.

Why Join?

  • True Autonomy: Influence our technical standards and tooling as we grow.
  • No Red Tape: Work in a small, agile team where you can make an immediate impact.
  • Growth: We support our team with training and certification opportunities.
  • High-Profile Work: Gain exposure to enterprise-level projects with blue-chip clients.
