We’re working with a well-established UK technology services provider that operates in mission-critical and secure environments. With over a decade of delivery experience, they support customers across infrastructure, networking, security and end-user services, and are now looking to grow their support team in Derby.
This is a brilliant opportunity for an IT Technician with 1–2 years’ experience who’s keen to strengthen their foundations while gaining exposure to 2nd line support, infrastructure and project work alongside experienced engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 1st line IT support to end users
- Diagnosing and resolving issues, escalating where appropriate
- Supporting Windows 10 / 11 desktop and laptop environments
- User account administration and routine system checks
- Desk installations and configuration changes
- Logging, managing and updating tickets accurately
- Supporting on-site visits and UK-wide client travel when required
- Assisting senior engineers with project and infrastructure work
- Maintaining documentation and identifying recurring issues
About You
Essential:
- 1–2 years’ experience in a 1st line or junior 2nd line support role
- Good working knowledge of Windows 10 / 11
- Exposure to Windows Server
- Basic networking understanding
- Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach
- Full UK driving licence
- Eligible for SC clearance (minimum 5 years UK residency)
- British national or dual British citizenship
Desirable:
- Exposure to Unix / Linux
- Awareness of Oracle or Docker
