Are you a DevOps Engineer who genuinely enjoys the “Ops” side of engineering? If you’d rather dig into the Linux kernel, manage infrastructure properly, and build automation that actually matters—rather than simply clicking buttons in a cloud console—this could be a brilliant opportunity.

We’re working with a high-growth international technology business based in Coventry that provides end-to-end event technology used by some of the world’s largest exhibitions and conferences. Their platform supports events with tens of thousands of attendees, and with global expansion underway (including the US, Germany and Brazil), they’re investing heavily in their infrastructure team.

The Opportunity

This is a brand-new role designed to strengthen the DevOps function and remove a single point of failure in the team. You’ll work closely with the Lead DevOps Engineer, helping manage and evolve the infrastructure that powers global ticketing and registration systems. Unlike many modern teams that rely entirely on cloud-managed services, this environment still values deep infrastructure expertise. If you enjoy understanding how systems actually work under the hood, this will feel refreshing.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing a fleet of Linux servers running a PHP/FPM stack hosted in Azure
  • Developing and improving CI/CD pipelines
  • Working with Terraform and Ansible to automate infrastructure
  • Ensuring systems are secure, monitored and highly available
  • Collaborating closely with developers to ensure smooth deployments

What they’re looking for

  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible
  • Good understanding of SQL / MySQL databases
  • Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines

Nice to have:

  • Experience with PHP environments
  • Exposure to Cloudflare, WAF, CDN or networking
  • Monitoring / observability tooling

This team has a really collaborative culture – no egos, lots of autonomy, and engineers are encouraged to experiment and improve the platform. If you’re a DevOps Engineer who still enjoys the infrastructure side of engineering, we’d be keen to talk to you.
