EMBS Engineering Ltd is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering manufacturer, located in Tamworth that is currently in the market for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to join their company on a Permanent basis. This market leader is a well-established entity within the precision engineering industries and boasts a rich history of supporting globally recognised customers with safety-critical, highly complex components. Due to internal changes and off the back of continued success, our client is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to enhance overall supplier performance, ensure IATF16949 compliance, and drive continuous improvement within the supply base.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), you will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining the OE supplier base to the highest standards of Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD)
- Utilising APQP and PPAP processes for new and existing projects on externally sourced components and subcontracted processes
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure products and processes meet engineering specifications and customer-specific requirements
- Driving the resolution of quality issues using appropriate problem-solving methodologies and initiating rapid containment actions for non-conformances
- Conducting supplier visits and audits, maintaining relevant supplier records, and driving supplier development activities
- Carrying out internal system and process audits related to Quality & Environmental Management systems (IATF16949, ISO9001, ISO14001) and monitoring supplier performance
Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:
- Familiarity and hands-on experience with quality systems, including balanced scorecards, 8Ds, 5 Whys, and process improvement
- A strong engineering background with the ability to interpret geometric tolerances and understand complex engineering drawings
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly in metal industries such as casting, forging, or pressing
- An understanding of quality tools such as PPAP, APQP, and PFMEAs
- A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude, with the ability to take on tasks independently
- A full driving licence for supplier visits
