EMBS Engineering is working in an exclusive partnership with a Midlands-based engineering manufacturer supplying high-integrity machined parts, assemblies and fabrications into highly regulated sectors, who is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead shop floor performance. The company has experienced considerable growth over the years and is at a unique point in their journey, creating a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to join the business and help move the company to new heights.

Role Overview:

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the shop floor, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient production while delivering against customer commitments, KPIs and business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead shop floor operations, daily reviews and Gemba walks
  • Drive OTIF, productivity, quality and efficiency
  • Manage route card adherence, time studies and capacity planning
  • Coach and develop team leaders and operators
  • Ensure H&S, quality and regulatory compliance
  • Own delivery performance, invoiced outputs and departmental KPIs
  • Support capital investment planning aligned to forecast demand

  • OTIF (>90%)
  • Factory efficiency (>90%)
  • Cost of quality (≤1.5%)
  • Productive hours (>5,000/month)
  • RFT batch production
  • Attendance (>95%)

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven Production / Manufacturing Manager experience
  • Worked within an SME environment
  • Background in precision engineering, advanced manufacturing or similar regulated industries
  • Sound working knowledge of running a Machine Shop environment with CNC capabilities
  • Strong shop floor leadership and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Comfortable managing KPIs, capacity and performance reporting
