Our client, a leading precision engineering manufacturer based in Alcester, is seeking a highly skilled Metrology Subject Matter Expert to join their team. This is a crucial, permanent position where you'll act as the key link between production and engineering, providing expert guidance on metrology, particularly for new product introductions (NPI). You'll be joining a well-established company with a strong reputation for producing safety-critical and highly complex components for global customers.

Responsibilities
- Provide Technical Expertise: Apply a deep understanding of measurement science and standards. You will be an expert in using a variety of measurement instruments, including CMMs, micrometres, visual projectors, and 3D blue-light scanners, and you will oversee the calibration of all measurement tools.
- Ensure Compliance: Maintain familiarity with national and international standards (ISO, ANSI, NIST) and industry regulations for measurements and calibration, ensuring all work adheres to these guidelines.
- Conduct Data Analysis: Use metrology software to collect, analyse, and report on data. You should be proficient in statistical methods such as Gage R&R and Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and be able to prepare detailed reports.
- Lead and Train: Guide and mentor metrology teams, establish best practices, and train junior staff on new techniques and safety protocols. You’ll need excellent communication skills to collaborate with other teams and explain technical concepts clearly.
- Manage Projects: Oversee metrology projects from planning to execution, managing resources, timelines, and budgets effectively.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging inspection technologies and trends, and introduce innovations to improve current practices.
Qualifications
- A strong metrology background with a proven track record of working in sectors such as Aerospace, Power Generation, or Automotive.
- Proficiency in PC-DMIS programming.
- Experience operating blue-light scanners, with a preference for Zeiss systems.
- A proven ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders and provide support for New Product Introduction (NPI).
