IT Infrastructure Engineer to 50k (Derby) with occasional home working. Gain Microsoft accreditations, get into Azure / Cloud and work internationally. You will provide 3rd line support and get involved in Project Engineering onsite for automotive retailers setting up new 'super showrooms' across the UK and beyond. This will involve implementing new Cisco switches, networking and connectivity, and Microsoft Server / Azure.

This is a great opportunity to take your skills out of on-prem and into the cloud. This international IT Managed Services business does it all, and as such so will you. Infrastructure, Networking, Cyber, Telephony, Consulting, Cloud etc. You will work with the Head of Infrastructure services and support the entire IT estate for some of the best-known automotive retailers/manufacturers in the world.

You will troubleshoot problems and incidents with connectivity, desktop, servers, virtualisation, security, cloud and networking and manage infrastructure projects, systems installations, and rollouts. The variation and diversity in this role are the big selling point, and with Microsoft certifications up for grabs, specifically geared towards Azure and Cloud, this opportunity will give you the learning and development that will increase your market value significantly.

We are looking for a smart person with good energy levels and a willingness to learn fast. We want to find a 3rd Line IT Support Engineer that is not afraid to go away and work things out, and find solutions. Someone keen to move into Project Engineering, or someone happy to work a hybrid 3rd line support/project engineering role. You will need to think on your feet, build good relationships with users and customers and assist in running infrastructure projects in a calm and methodical way.

This organisation cares for their employees, they offer long-term careers with progression and do things right. Setting goals and objectives that if achieved, result in rewards and recognition. They will also allow some flexible and hybrid working, which gives you the space and time for things outside of work and study for your certifications.

Interested? Would you like to find out more? I would love to talk to you if you have the following skills and experience:

  • Min of three years of industry experience working in a 2nd / 3rd line support role
  • Ideally some previous experience working in a customer-facing / MSP environment
  • Willing to work in Derby or on customer sites, with some home working
  • Experience in resolving problems, finding solutions, or escalating IT incidents and problems, within a service desk environment
  • Some server-side experience and know your way around Active Directory
  • In-depth experience in networking and connectivity - routing/switching/protocols etc
  • An understanding of the basic principles behind cloud computing, perhaps you have basic Azure skills or accreditations
  • Experience supporting Windows 10 and Office 365

If you are looking for a move that will enable you to grow your technical skills, gain formal Microsoft accreditations, and work on diverse IT deployment projects alongside BAU 3rd support, I would love to talk to you and explain why this is a truly rare opportunity. The position is office based with some occasional home working. The salary is up to 40k + benefits - some international travel to the USA may be required from time to time in this role.
