This is a senior, client facing SEO role with full ownership of one of Embryo’s key ecommerce accounts. You will lead the end to end organic strategy, translating high level direction into clear, actionable plans and ensuring delivery across technical SEO, content and performance. You’ll be accountable for results, acting as the go-to expert for your client and the central point of leadership across all organic activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Ownership & Leadership – Take full ownership of a tier 1 client account, maintaining complete visibility across all SEO activity. Act as the central point of accountability, ensuring work is prioritised, delivered and aligned to commercial goals.
- Strategy & Direction – Lead the development and evolution of organic strategy. Translate this into clear roadmaps and ensure delivery teams are aligned on priorities, timelines and outcomes.
- Delivery Oversight – Oversee the execution of SEO activity across technical, content and optimisation workstreams. Delegate effectively, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard and on time.
- Performance & Insight – Own performance tracking against KPIs, identifying trends, risks and opportunities early. Turn data into clear, commercially focused insight that informs decision-making and future strategy.
- Client Leadership – Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, positioning yourself as their SEO expert. Lead performance calls, reporting and strategic conversations with confidence and clarity.
- Internal Collaboration – Work closely with SEO, Content and Digital PR teams to ensure joined-up delivery. Drive alignment across teams and remove blockers to keep work moving at pace.
- Team Development – Support the development of junior team members through mentoring, feedback and knowledge sharing. Contribute to raising standards across the team.
- Innovation & Best Practice – Stay ahead of SEO trends, algorithm updates and industry changes. Bring new ideas and approaches into client strategies and the wider team.
Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge across technical, on-page and off-page SEO, with experience delivering and implementing strategy.
- Proven experience managing key client accounts, with the confidence to lead conversations, challenge where needed, and build trusted relationships.
- 5+ years in SEO, ideally within an agency environment, with a track record of delivering measurable results.
- Confident using tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Screaming Frog and Looker Studio. Able to interpret data and translate it into actionable insight.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to simplify complex SEO concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain visibility across workstreams and ensure deadlines are met.
- Proactive, commercially aware and solutions-focused. Comfortable taking ownership and leading from the front.
- Genuine interest in SEO and delivering impactful results for clients.
