Working pattern: 2 days hybrid in the Manchester office.

Role Responsibilities:

  • High-quality content writing – You will frequently be writing well-researched, creative and fully optimised content for SEO purposes, with excellent spelling and grammar, regardless of the subject matter.
  • Content strategy – You will liaise with SEO account managers to produce a blog strategy for your clients using our internal tools and other keyword research tools.
  • Feedback and editing – You’ll be working closely with our Senior Content Writers to develop your own writing and editing skills, to ultimately be able to self-edit your work to an exceptional standard.
  • Collaboration and teamwork – You’ll be expected to liaise with the SEO & content teams to understand client strategies and create content in line with overarching campaign goals, which includes supporting research for User-Focused Content where applicable.
  • Organisation and self-management – With support from your manager, you will be expected to schedule your own workflow using our workflow management system, and to manage content creation for 5-7 clients on a regular basis.
  • Client communications – You will be expected to confidently and professionally communicate with clients via email, over the phone, on video calls, and in person, with support from senior team members.
  • Reporting – You will be required to report on content creation on a monthly basis, with the ability to explain the reasoning behind content creation as a part of an SEO strategy.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • 2 + years of experience in a similar role.
  • Writing experience – You should have experience in writing SEO-focused content in a digital agency or freelance capacity.
  • Content management – You should be comfortable with managing content for multiple clients, both large and small.
  • Software – You should have experience in using G Suite and WordPress. For any other software or tools, training will be provided.
  • Communication – Proactive communication, both internally and with clients, is a must. You should also be comfortable engaging with clients and discussing strategy if needed.
  • Feedback and development – You will receive regular feedback on your writing, so a willingness to develop as a writer and make changes based on this feedback is vital.
  • Teamwork – We are a passionate, experienced, and enthusiastic team, and need someone who is a team player and willing to help where they can to support wider department goals.
  • Flexibility and adaptability – No day is the same in this role, so you must be able to adapt quickly based on the needs of our diverse client base.
  • Time management – We use workflow management tools to assist in time management, but you should also be confident that your workload is manageable and that appropriate deadlines are set and met.
  • Passion – You should be passionate about content writing and want to deliver the best results for your clients and their businesses, while also progressing and expanding your skills across the board.
  • Basic SEO knowledge – You don’t need to be a technical expert by any means, but an understanding of basic SEO principles and keyword research is required.
