About the Role
A well‑established and accredited provider of fire protection and electronic security solutions is seeking an experienced Multi‑Skilled Fire & Security Engineer to join its growing team. This role is ideal for a security‑biased engineer with experience across a range of fire and security disciplines, supporting a diverse portfolio of commercial and high‑end clients.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in the installation, commissioning, maintenance, servicing, and fault‑finding of fire and security systems.
- Competent in working with:
- Fire alarm systems
- Access control systems
- Intruder alarm systems
- CCTV systems
- Experience with both conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
- Familiarity with fire and security management software.
- Experience with a variety of intruder alarm, CCTV, and access control platforms.
- Experience working with emergency lighting systems.
- Strong understanding of current British Standards relating to fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, and emergency lighting.
- Ability to diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and recommend solutions independently.
- Good IT skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to participate in an on‑call rota.
- Ability to support and share knowledge with colleagues.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Relevant industry qualifications and certifications.
- Knowledge of applicable British Standards and industry regulations.
- Experience with IP‑based security systems and networking.
- Additional industry training and certifications would be advantageous.
Person Specification
- Right to work in the UK.
- Full UK driving licence.
- ECS or CSCS card desirable.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and remotely.
- Able to pass industry vetting requirements and enhanced DBS screening.
- PASMA and IPAF certifications desirable.
- Customer‑focused with excellent communication skills.
- Logical, diligent, and proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
