Embley is a leading independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 2–18 on the edge of the New Forest, near Romsey in Hampshire. We believe that every child is unique and deserves the recognition of that as they grow. We are academically ambitious for our children and motivate them to achieve their personal best. We encourage an appropriate belief in oneself while being mindful that the world does not end at the tip of one’s nose and that happiness in life is through success in enriching the lives of others.

The school occupies the home of Florence Nightingale and our 130 acres of parkland provide a calm and beautiful space in which to work and enable pupils to learn, play, compete and achieve. We are an equal opportunities employer and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Embley is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life-changing education to children and young people across England.

The core role of the Minibus Driver is to operate a morning and evening School bus route, both driving and taking responsibility for the children in their care. Relief drivers are required ad hoc during term time to cover routes as and when needed. Shifts to be covered will be at the beginning and end of the school day with buses arriving at school with pupils at approximately 8.10am. Buses leave school in the evening at 5.00pm Monday – Thursday and at 3.45pm on Friday.

The Minibus Driver must be aware of the statutory, United Learning and School regulations and abide by these at all times. The Minibus Driver will have a day to day working relationship with many school departments, in particular with boarding and sports staff and is required to co-operate fully with all members of staff.

We place a strong focus on academic ambition and strive to produce resilient, creative and independent learners who are flexible and proactive, who can solve problems, make decisions, think critically and communicate ideas effectively.
