About the role: The hotel is embarking on a multi-million pound transformation. The new restaurant will offer all day dining and the restaurant reception managers team will be the first point of contact for our guests. Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager, you will have the opportunity to really make your mark in the restaurant scene in Bath, the reception and host team will lead the way in guest experience, guiding guests through their time in the restaurant and bar and elevating their time with us, ensuring that they will return time and time again.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the Head Host to manage and lead the host team through breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Welcoming guests and allocating them on the booking platform and coordinating with the restaurant team.
- Overseeing the guest journey from booking to farewell helping to train the host order of service.
- Manage the reservations for the restaurant and liaise with hotel reception for a seamless guest experience when booking in the restaurant.
- In depth knowledge of the food and drinks available and a clear understanding of promotions and offers from the hotel and wider group.
- Complaint handling.
- Recording guest information and deploying that information to enhance guest experience.
- Maintain a tidy and organized reception/host area, ensuring it reflects our company's brand and values.
- Receive and plan event bookings working with the restaurant manager and head chef.
Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Highly detailed and attentive, ensuring accuracy in maintaining records and managing schedules.
- In depth knowledge of the restaurant and bar offering as well as the hotels offers and promotions.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
- Strong organizational abilities with the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Be comfortable dealing with ad hoc or short notice requests from guests or assigned by department head.
