Seeking an experienced and motivated Area Supervisor to oversee operations across a portfolio of energy generation and gas asset sites within the South region. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled supervisor with strong mechanical or electrical experience to lead technicians, manage site operations, and ensure maximum plant availability while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.

The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and operation of gas fields, reciprocating assets, and gas peaking plants across assigned sites. Working closely with operational and engineering teams, you will coordinate maintenance activities, support technicians, and ensure sites operate safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual and regulatory requirements. The role also includes participation in a 24-hour emergency call-out rota and supporting out-of-hours trading operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate technicians across the assigned area
  • Ensure compliance with all operational, environmental, and safety requirements
  • Manage day-to-day operations to maximise safe plant availability and electrical output
  • Carry out maintenance of mechanical and electrical plant equipment
  • Conduct scheduled site inspections and oversee completion of outstanding works
  • Support field technicians with fault finding and maintenance activities
  • Supervise contractors and ensure adherence to company procedures
  • Manage operating costs and support efficient resource allocation
  • Maintain accurate records, stock control, and maintenance documentation
  • Liaise with clients and site management teams
  • Support commissioning and handover of new sites and equipment
  • Participate in emergency call-out cover when required

Skills & Experience

  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Recognised qualification or strong experience in either mechanical or electrical disciplines
  • Experience working with peaking plant, CHP, or similar generation assets
  • Commercially aware with the ability to manage workloads efficiently
  • Computer literate
  • Full UK driving licence (manual vehicles)
