Salary & Benefits Package
- Basic salary: £39,740
- South weighting: £4,128
- On-call allowance: up to £2,000 per annum
- Overtime: up to 12 hours/week (management discretion)

- Gas Safe: £1,500/year
- 18th Edition: £1,000/year
- HV Switching: £1,000/year (increases after 12 months certification)

Role Purpose
As a CHP Field Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of distributed generation assets. You’ll play a key role in maximising electrical output, reducing downtime, and maintaining high-performing energy sites across the UK. You will work across mechanical, electrical, gas, PV, heat transfer, and energy storage systems, supporting both maintenance and operational excellence in a fast-growing energy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance and repair of generators, CHP systems, PV, BESS, pumps, motors, and associated plant
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures, manuals, and record-keeping systems
- Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults (LV systems and trained HV switching)
- Conduct commissioning and integration of new sites into operations
- Provide 24/7 emergency call-out support for generator failures
- Supervise contractors and support junior technicians
- Maintain stock control, spares ordering, and cost management
- Conduct air emissions monitoring and environmental compliance checks
- Support HSQE systems and environmental protection procedures
- Respond to spillages using appropriate environmental controls
- Ensure company vehicles are maintained to high standards
- Represent the company professionally on client sites
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong background in electrical, mechanical, and/or heat systems maintenance
- Experience with control systems (12V DC – 415V AC 3-phase)
- Fault diagnosis and repair capability
- Gas Safe accreditation (or willingness to achieve during probation)
- 18th Edition qualification (or willingness to obtain)
- HV switching experience or training potential
- Experience in CHP, gas peaker plants, PV, or energy storage (desirable)
- Computer literate
- Full UK driving licence
