An established and expanding aviation services organisation is seeking an experienced Aviation Compliance Manager to join its operations at a major UK international airport. This is a senior leadership position within the aircraft maintenance division, serving as the nominated person responsible for safety, compliance monitoring, and information security under UK CAA and EASA Part-145 regulations. The successful candidate will also support the development and implementation of an Integrated Management System (IMS) across broader operational areas, including aircraft storage, recycling, fixed base operations (FBO), and ground handling. Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance & Part-145 Oversight
- Act as UK CAA & EASA Part-145 Nominated Person (Form 4 Holder).
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
- Establish and maintain an independent compliance monitoring and audit system.
- Develop and manage a structured internal audit programme.
- Oversee corrective action processes arising from audit findings.
- Liaise with the Accountable Manager on regulatory and compliance performance.
- Manage amendments to the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and secure regulatory approval where required.
- Maintain the Approved Supplier List and oversee subcontractor compliance.
- Issue, renew, and withdraw certifying staff authorisations under Part-145.
- Monitor contracted maintenance organisations for ongoing compliance.
- Ensure appropriate regulatory notifications for maintenance activities conducted outside approved locations.
- Integrate audit findings into recurrent training programmes.
- Oversee staff training, continuation training, and training records management.
- Safety Management & Information Security
- Lead and manage the organisation’s Safety Management System (SMS).
- Oversee safety reporting and occurrence investigation processes.
- Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation planning.
- Monitor implementation of safety action plans and improvement initiatives.
- Deliver safety performance reporting to senior leadership and Safety Review Board.
- Maintain safety management documentation and records.
- Promote just culture, human factors awareness, and continuous improvement principles.
- Integrate safety learning into recurrent training and organisational development.
- Wider Operational Oversight
- Support the development and embedding of an Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Provide compliance and safety oversight across aircraft storage, recycling, FBO, and ground handling operations.
- Undertake additional regulatory and compliance duties as directed by the Accountable Manager.
Essential Requirements
- Eligible to hold UK & EASA Part-145 Nominated Person (Form 4) roles (Safety & Compliance Monitoring, Information Security).
- Valid or previously held Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML) or Aeronautical Engineering Degree.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance or continuing airworthiness.
- Strong technical knowledge relevant to aircraft types within a Part-145 environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of:
- Part-145 regulatory requirements
- Maintenance Organisation Expositions (MOE)
- Compliance monitoring and quality systems
- ICAO, UK CAA, and EASA safety management frameworks
- Formal auditing and compliance monitoring training.
- Human Factors (HF), Fuel Tank Safety (FTS), and EWIS training.
- Strong understanding of risk management and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder engagement capability.
