About the Role

We are an ambitious and fast-growing international supplements business, and we’re looking for our first Business Development Manager to build and lead our sales function from the ground up. This is a foundational hire—someone who thrives in a hands‑on, entrepreneurial environment and is excited by the opportunity to shape strategy, create structure, and drive meaningful growth across both the UK retail and international wholesale markets. You’ll play a critical role in expanding our UK retail footprint while unlocking significant untapped potential in our inbound international B2B wholesale enquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers and store owners
  • Develop tailored pitches and strategies to increase product placement and visibility
  • Manage and convert inbound international wholesale enquiries
  • Build a scalable process for handling and nurturing global leads
  • Identify and develop new international distribution opportunities
  • Establish and implement sales processes, pipelines, and reporting structures from scratch
  • Define outreach strategies, CRM usage, and performance tracking
  • Lay the groundwork for future sales team growth
  • Work closely with the design team to create high‑converting sales decks and materials
  • Contribute creatively to how the brand is presented to partners
  • Ensure all sales collateral is both visually compelling and commercially effective
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities
  • Provide insights and recommendations to inform product positioning and strategy

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management (within FMCG, supplements, or health & wellness)
  • Demonstrated success in winning new business and growing accounts
  • Experience selling into retail (UK) and/or B2B wholesale markets
  • Strong ability to build structure and processes in an unstructured environment
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Commercially minded with a strong understanding of margins, pricing, and deal structuring
  • Highly self‑motivated, proactive, and self‑sufficient
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and prioritise effectively
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving business

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in the supplements, nutrition, or wellness industry
  • Existing network of UK retail buyers or international distributors
  • Experience working with or managing international markets
  • Strong eye for branding and experience collaborating with creative/design teams
  • Experience building or being an early hire in a sales team
  • Understanding of regulatory considerations in supplements across different markets
