Embat is one of the fastest-growing FinTech scale-ups in Europe. Founded in 2021, we are on a mission to redefine how mid-market and enterprise companies interact with their money. We don't just offer visibility; we provide the financial operating system for the modern era.
The Evolution: Beyond SaaS we've evolved from a platform into a powerhouse of financial infrastructure. We are currently building EmbatOne, our own banking layer designed to bridge the gap between traditional banking and seamless digital operations. But we aren't just moving money; we are making it smarter. With Tellme, our proprietary AI financial assistant, we are empowering CFOs and treasury teams to query complex data and get real-time insights through natural language, turning manual reporting into an archaic memory.
The Team: We are now a team of 150+ exceptional individuals working from our hubs in Spain, UK, and DACH, united by a culture of high performance and radical ownership.
The Volume: Our engines handle massive, high-volume payment flows for multinationals, ensuring security and resilience in every transaction across multiple currencies and borders.
The Backing: Backed by tier-1 investors like Creandum, Samaipata, 4Founders Capital, and VentureFriends, our €15M Series A is fueling our rapid expansion across Europe's key financial markets.
We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to lead the Banking Connectivity squad, the backbone of Embat's financial infrastructure. In this role, you will be the end-to-end owner of how we interface with financial institutions globally. This isn't just about 'calling an endpoint.' You will navigate a complex landscape where modern Real-Time APIs coexist with traditional File-Based connectivity (H2H/SFTP). You are the architect of the 'plumbing' of the financial world—handling diverse protocols, ensuring absolute data consistency, and building robust systems that process massive volumes of financial messages without errors.
What you'll do?
- Strategic Roadmap Ownership: Define and execute the strategy for connecting with any financial institution via Bank Aggregators, Open Banking, Direct Corporate APIs, or Host-to-Host (SFTP) file exchanges.
- Infrastructure & Architecture: Deep dive into the technical 'innards' of our integrations. You will collaborate with Engineering to define how we ingest, validate, and store financial data (ISO 20022, MT940, CAMT.053).
- Operational Excellence: Lead the transition from operationally-heavy manual banking connections to a self-serve, AI-first experience for our clients.
- Vendor & Partner Management: Act as the primary technical point of contact for banking providers and aggregators like Yapily, Afterbanks, Plaid, and various PSPs.
- Reliability & Trust: Ensure 99.9% reliability in data ingestion. Your success is measured by 'zero-discrepancy' between the bank's reality and Embat's platform.
- Necto Integration: Lead the strategic project of merging the Necto acquisition with the Embat Hub to create a unified, intelligent connectivity powerhouse.
Objectives
- Reliability First: Achieve total stability in data ingestion and incident management within the first 6 months.
- Scalable Coverage: Expand our global banking footprint while reducing 'time-to-market' for new country-specific connections.
- Productization: Transform connectivity from a manual 'back-office' task into a seamless, automated product module.
Who are we looking for?
- Technical Foundation: You must have a background in Software Engineering or a deeply technical role. We love PMs who have transitioned from Engineering and aren't afraid to 'look under the hood'.
- Banking Domain Expertise: You know your way around SWIFT, EBICS, and EDITRAN. You understand the nuances of banking files and how to navigate the internal dynamics of financial institutions.
- Problem Solver: You thrive on solving complex data integrity challenges and can translate 'bank-speak' into clear product requirements for developers.
- Startup Mindset: You move fast. Unlike the 'laid back' rhythm of traditional banks, you thrive in a high-velocity environment where we release frequently.
- Languages: English (C1 minimum) is mandatory. You will be dealing with international providers and technical documentation daily.
Why you'll love this role
- Critical Infrastructure: You are building the 'rails' that Embat runs on. Without your squad, there is no product.
- Double-Down Investment: Connectivity is a strategic pillar for 2026. We are 'doubling down' on this area with resources and executive focus.
- Zero-to-One Impact: You will have the autonomy to define the next generation of our connectivity hub and integrate strategic acquisitions.
- Expert Mentorship: Work hand-in-hand with our founders, who bring over a decade of experience in Investment Banking at J.P. Morgan.
- Ongoing Education: Access to finance and product education, including an initial certification during onboarding and sponsored materials/sessions.
- Performance Reviews: Structured feedback twice a year to ensure you are consistently evolving.
- Latest Tech: Choose the hardware and tools you need to do your best, most impactful work.
- Hybrid & Flexible: A modern hybrid setup (40% remote) with flexible schedules to balance your life and work.
- Generous Vacation: 23 paid working days per year, plus your birthday, plus public holidays.
- Tenure Rewards: We value loyalty. Get 1 additional vacation day for every year at Embat (up to 3 extra days).
- Competitive Compensation: A salary that reflects your project's impact and your level of responsibility.
- Flexible Remuneration: Optimize your salary with Restaurant, Transport, and Kindergarten cards, plus salary-on-demand via Payflow.
- Language Skills: English classes to help you thrive in our international environment.
- Team & Culture: Monthly team-building plans, annual Embacation offsite event and Friday Lunch—fully covered by Embat.
