About the Role
The London International Media Hub, an overseas branch of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Global Public Affairs, is seeking a dynamic Administrative & Information Assistant (Urdu/Hindi Speaking) to support our Hindi‑Urdu Foreign Language Spokesperson. The role operates at the center of U.S. government engagement with South Asian media, providing logistical, financial, and language support to enable effective communication with regional audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Hub’s budget and contracts, ensuring compliance with Department regulations.
- Coordinate logistics for media training programs, including venue selection, participant communications, and materials preparation.
- Track and manage procurement actions, overseeing contracts for media monitors, social media partners, and staff.
- Handle travel arrangements and office management, coordinating itineraries, processing travel authorisations, and maintaining office supplies and equipment.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports and liaise with Embassy financial teams to ensure accurate accounting and timely obligation of funds.
Language Support
- Coach and prepare the Hindi‑Urdu spokesperson for impactful media interviews.
- Draft and edit compelling Urdu/Hindi video scripts that resonate with audiences.
- Monitor and advise on breaking developments in the Urdu/Hindi press.
- Review and verify translations before public release to ensure accuracy.
- Cultivate relationships with key journalists and arrange strategic interviews.
This position serves as the operational backbone of the Hub, supporting a team of media and language experts while contributing to U.S. foreign policy engagement in South Asia.
