Graphic Designer / Junior Graphic Designer (Freelance)

From the beginning, our mission has been clear: to create bright & bold updates to classic footwear styles for those individuals who want to live life on their own terms.
To support our next phase of growth, we are looking for a highly creative and multi-talented Freelance Graphic Designer or Junior Graphic Designer to evolve and elevate our visual presence in line with our brand identity, positioning and aspirations across all touch points on digital and stores. You will be a digitally focussed, naturally creative self-starter that can move at an agile and fast pace and have excellent multi-tasking and prioritising skills. Ideal candidate will also have additional experience in one or more of building emails, photography, video editing and UX design. Reporting into the Digital Director and working closely with the founders and Marketing Manager, the role is predominantly remote with occasional working in our Dartford office. The role would initially be 2-3 days per week.
The Role
- Produce all creative assets across all touchpoints, including email, paid social, PPC, website, social media posts, store assets and print
- You will become the eyes and voice of our founder to deliver brand consistency and ensure high-quality design standards across all visual assets
- Act as a guardian of brand fonts, colours, and overall identity, maintaining consistency across all touchpoints
- Design and build emails and templates on Klaviyo including linking to relevant landing pages
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to ensure alignment on design objectives and deadlines
- Support with photography shoots, still-life images, video editing and retouching and resizing of product images
- Help design packaging, labels, and product displays for new footwear and accessories collections
- Be an active contributor to our marketing content calendar and strategy
- Own seasonal 360 of design templates considering best practice for UX design and store environment, ensuring designs are fit for purpose, on brand and feeding back to the wider team ahead of the season starting
- Revamp creative processes and critical path and bring the teams along on the journey
- Create website mock-ups as visual guidance for our external web developers
- Analyse and gain creative insights from historical campaigns, competitors, aspirational brands and evolving trends
Skills & Experience
- 2-4 years proven experience in graphic design
- Available immediately 2-3 days per week for minimum 6 months
- A solid portfolio demonstrating a variety of design projects, including digital media and print, and an understanding of branding principles
- Thorough understanding of typography, colour theory, layout principles, web standards and advertising standards
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro)
- Accuracy and attention to detail is critical with a passion for creating visually appealing work that adheres to brand guidelines
- Photography, video editing and animation skills would be highly advantageous
- Knowledge of email design and building, ideally on Klaviyo
- Retail fashion graphic design experience highly advantageous
- Good grasp of UX and mobile design principals, Figma or Sketch would be advantageous but not essential
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to generate new ideas and think outside the box, especially in a fashion context
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Flexible self-starter and team player with experience of working in small teams
- Interest in our brand, our audience and the quirky nature of our products or in fashion in general
