The Role:

A leading company in the Plant & Pump Hire sector is seeking a dedicated Workshop Supervisor / Foreman Fitter, based in Wigan. This full-time, permanent position is based in a well-equipped workshop, operating Monday to Friday with no weekend work required. The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations, manage a team of fitters, and ensure that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervising a team of fitters and service engineers
2. Ordering spare parts and managing inventory
3. Handling breakdown calls from customers
4. Maintaining health and safety standards
5. Organising the workshop for optimal efficiency
6. Ensuring statutory compliance

Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate for the Workshop Foreman – Plant & Pump Hire role will possess:

1. Previous experience in roles such as Workshop Manager, Workshop Supervisor, Foreman Fitter, or Chargehand
2. A strong mechanical or engineering background within the Plant / Diesel Equipment Hire industry
3. Proven ability to manage and motivate a team
4. Proficiency in IT
5. Excellent customer service skills
6. Strong communication and organisational abilities
7. A full UK Driving Licence
